Group A

We have a new leader in this group. negames4me with an already impressive 6 out of 7 win. He doesn't hold his ticket yet but unless he has a terrible last few games he will cruise to the second round. Behind frriedel 5 out of 7 win seems to be in a good position for his ticket to the next round but he needs to be careful because our captain searcoid 3 out of 7 win and milotoys 5.5 out of 9 win are in ambushed and currently are fighting to the death to try to catch up or grab a wild card. Gibsonscot 1 out of 4 is not out of the running either but need to start winning games now if he wants to keep hope alive. Jeff62 2.5 out of 9 and chessfiend 2 out of 7 are not out of the running for the wild card but their hope will stop if they lose one more game.

This group is not decided and a couple of surprise and upset could change the ranking dramatically. And I'm hoping for that.

Group B

mischo 10.5 out of 11 already qualify but he missed the sweep, thanks to our co-captain now being our captain earlkarjohn 3.5 out of 7 who still in the running for a wild card because unless accident the second ticket will go to collazos 7 out of 8 whose only a point and a half away from qualification.

Angellis 3.5 out of 9 and wolfcub 4.5 out of 10 will also fight for the wild card. Their direct confrontation will decide the mater. hopewell 3 out of 12 and tumble_weed 2 out of 11 are eliminated but leave this tournament with honors. They were the lowest rated but managed to win a couple game against stronger player. Congrats

Group C

Still very slow but hjemcall 7 out of 7 took a solid leads I have no doubt that he will keep it. ilpo 4 out 11 is holding the 2 position currently but with only one game left it will be hard to keep it but he's hoping that 6 point will be enough for a wild card .cpresoz and fisherboy46 both 3 out 6 are fighting to get their ticket their only half way done. E4addict 2 out of 5 and spursboy 2 out of 4 are right behind.

A bad note for riposte who timed out 5 games and get disqualified from wild card pick His only way to the second round will be to get one of the first 2 qualifying ticket. That's a bad warrior attitude because few player were on a waiting list and didn't get to play this tournament

Group D

This group is DONE. That was fast plays guys. 1^st place coupigwe 10.5 out of 12 Well done. 2^nd palce our Brazilian sonofander_pict 8.5 out of 12 Great job. 3^rd mitchle 7 out 11 and one game to go a very good chance at a wild card. That's a big score for being 3^rd .Thanks ruskie 5 out of 12 mayor 4 out of 11 so far, smcgre04 3 out of 10 and thebishop1000 2 out 12 for having living up to our expectation and giving us all some great games. I have confidence you will be back next year with vengence written all over you.:-)

Group E

kleos came to this tournament with his broom and sweept everybody with his chess skills 8 out of 8. Outstanding job and of course qualified. Now the rest of the group is a little tricky because 2^nd and 3^rd place are decided with chesscommander 4 out of 8 and grogygrmln 4 out of 7. If grogygrmln wins or draw his last game he will qualified but if he loses we will have to wait until all the other group are done and see if a wild card will be given to this group. If not We are going to have a single rematch with grogygrmln picking the color because of his win against chesscommander in the tournament.

But we might not arrive to this extreme I hope :-) maitre and are eliminated but their participation gave an edge to this group and made it very interesting. Thank you

Group F

My group. bobbob78 .... Well I qualified easily 1^st place with 7 out 7 with one game from the sweep but behind it's a mess. Betterthanyou 3 out of 6 is in the best position to get 2^nd but irmo29063 3 out of 7 and madsweeney 1 out of 4 can still claim the second ticket. Wanderingwolf 1 out of 6 can still claim a wild card but unlikely. Good luck everybody chasing me :-)

Group G

An other slow group where everything needs to be done. Hvacr 5 out of 7 leads the group comfortably. Behind the chase is on andru2 5 out of 8 and calojay 5 out of 7 are leading the race and a firce one at that. Garner 1 out 3 is still in the game but too early to tell sherbert. 2 out of 7 is in serious trouble and desmondvan 3 out of 10 is eliminated . In this group a bad note is given to capablanca7 Who timed out is only finished game so he will not get a wild card if he terminate 3^rd. :-(

Group H

In this group no big surprised happened and the name of the first 3 is known but we don't know in what order yet. We have vicit 8 out of 10 gameguy8 8 out of 10 and corneliusblisand 7.5 out of 10. I will not go into tie breaker in this group yet because I have a good feeling that a wild card will be given to this group because of high score but only future will tell and they all have 2 games to go.

Unfortunately irishleprechaun 3.5 out of 10 kudzu 3 out of 11 deltawing 1 out of 7 and oldfossil 0 out of 4 technically not eliminated but I don't see a miracle happening. Those last fight will decide the rank of the first 3. and I know they will not throw their games.
